Job Summary: -
We are looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to ensure our company adheres to legal standards and in-house policies. You will be responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business as well as providing guidance on compliance matters.
Responsibilities: -
- Lead the digesting and analysis of regulatory change and look for opportunities to influence the regulatory agenda.
- Provide effective and timely advice on complex compliance matters to the business, in conjunction with our legal teams, on how to manage and mitigate conduct and compliance risks within different verticals.
- Work with legal, risk, and business leads to develop and maintain our compliance policies and controls as per applicable Australian law.
- Communicating and conducting compliance risks to senior management.
- Work with business leads to identify and collate relevant information to respond to requests for information from auditors and regulators (regulatory exams) in a timely manner.
- Identify compliance issues and necessary training.
- Evaluate the efficiency of controls. Identify risks or non-conformity issues.
- Design, improve and implement productive and efficient company policies.
- Improve current strategies if necessary.
- Manage and supervise control systems. Revise procedures, reports, etc.
- Assess the business’s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks.
- Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training.
- Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate.
Requirements and skills: -
- Proven experience as a compliance manager.
- In-depth knowledge of the industry’s standards and regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
- A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality.
- Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities.
- An analytical mind able to “see” the complexities of procedures and regulations
- Excellent communication skills.
- BSc/BA in law, finance, business administration or a related field.
- Certified compliance professional is a plus.
